About Quality RailFan Images Photographer Don Hagen
Quality RailFan Images photographer and owner, Don Hagen, is a long time train lover and relatively new photographer. While trains have been a fascination of Don's since his childhood which included playing with HO scale trains as a kid, capturing the railroad through the art of photography has only recently become an activity that piqued his interest.
In August 2003, a photographer and close friend of Don's invited him on an outing to go 'train chasing'. The idea of taking pictures of trains was foreign to Don, not realizing people did this as a hobby or profession. After spending the day with his friend and using an outdated Pentax K1000 camera, the railfan bug bit Don. Over the next few years, Don's photography skills grew due to the mentoring and encouragement of his friend. Since then, Don has captured over 50,000 images throughout the US.
In 2010, Quality RailFan Images was born as Don took his first steps into having his work printed and available to the public to purchase. Since then and hundreds of prints later, Don's work can be found in homes in the United States, Australia, England, and Japan.
If there is a location of interest that you cannot find here, or if you have your own photo that you would like Don to review or possibly modify and print, let Don know. He would enjoy the opportunity and privilege to discuss with you the options available to produce and print the picture you desire.
